You Cannot Be Serious, Pt. 94: Lurita Doan and Armstrong Williams

The Chairman knows that, in Washington, “shame” is a foreign word. Indeed, so alien is the concept here that the Chairman’s familiarity with it occasionally makes him feel like the old aborigine in Werner Herzog’s movie Where the Green Ants Dream the only surviving member of his tribe, he speaks a language that no one else on earth can understand.

How else to explain the following two phenomena:

1) The re-emergence of Lurita Doan. Yes, she’s back. The GOP hack who flaunted the Hatch Act, then displayed a scary degree of paranoia by removing her water glass from a congressional hearing for fear it would be used to lift fingerprints (what did she know about how the Bush administration treated its enemies?)

Doan not only has a regular spot on Federal News Radio, but is part of panel today on border security at the Heritage Foundation.

2) Armstrong Williams criticizing the Obama administration on ethics. For those whose memories are shorter or less effective than the Chairman’s, Williams was the conservative pundit who took nearly a quarter of a million dollars under the table to plug Bush’s “No Child Left Behind” policy on his syndicated TV show as part of the administration’s illegal use of paid propaganda to promote the failing policy.

It’s bad enough this crook has a regular column in an actual newspaper (even if it is only in the Washingloonie Times), but the bald faced chutzpah involved in criticizing anyone else for their ethical lapses leaves the Chairman speechless.
