Did Former Top CIA Official Leak Classified Info?

Again, the short answer to the above question is I don’t really know. But as always, I love to share what I do know.

Yesterday I told you about recent FBI rounds of inquiry, purportedly seeking the source of classified information leaked via Ron Suskind’s two-year-old book, One Percent Doctrine.

If the investigators were indeed intent on pursuing loose lips circa 2006 for a violation of federal law, their ambition could have been stymied by a revelation of the wealth, power, and influence of their most likely leaker.

People in this town know well that shit just doesn’t stick to the brothers Krongard.

The lesser Krongard, Cookie, is off the hook this time–unless he knows his brother Buzzy suffers from intel incontinence and will testify otherwise. (Why no, Congressman Waxman, I had no idea my brother had any financial interests in Blackwater…)

So the FBI agents looking into this issue were reportedly informed Buzzy–former executive director of the CIA–possessed the requisite knowledge to have been the leaker of interest. And Suskind quotes him as an interviewee in the book.

So what did the FBI do with this information?  They took it under advisement.  Beyond that, I have no idea, though considering the wealth and influence of Buzzy, I wouldn’t be surprised if it involved a permanent filing procedure with perhaps some shredding, burning and forgetting.
